A few questions about the noriday mini pill?

I was prescribed with the noriday mini pill. I would like to know how effective is it? And is it as effective as the combined pill? Does it stop ovulation? Is it likely that it will mess up my periods? Many thanks

Guide

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
Noriday mini pills are completely effective as long as they are taken correctly. They need to be taken every day even during your period, unlike the combined pill which is taken only 3 weeks. If you are more than 3 hours late taking a pill, you need to use another form of contraception such as a condom for the next 2 days while you take the next pills on time.
They work by thickening the cervical mucus to block sperm from passing. They also keeps fertilized eggs from implanting in the womb. Even though they can stop some women from ovulating, it does not happen with everyone who takes it.

The hormonal intake can actually regulate your period. However, on some occasions it can cause irregular vaginal bleeding/spotting. If this happens speak to your doctor right away.

I hope that helps.
