Prolonged menstrual bleeding, or menorrhagia, is bleeding that goes beyond a week. Normal menstrual bleeding typically last from three to seven days. Usually the cause has to do with your hormone levels and is a condition that can be easily controlled with birth control hormones.

Call your doctor for an appt so you can examined and decide on a course of action to treat.
