The found a lump in my lymph node (neck left side) to the point where it closes up the left side of my throat. I go for a CT scan on Monday and then immediately to the doctor for results. I have been awefully fatigued, my skin itches so bad that I dig my fingernails into the skin, and I am scared of what they are going to find. Can this be non hodgkins lymphnoma.

There is a possibility that it is NHL. You show some symptons. It is scary and you will make it through. I look forward to the results. I was diagnosed a year ago. More on that later. Please post your results.

Hi -
My mother had non-hodgson's lymphoma. I think it is excellent that you are going for a CT scan and getting the results immediately. My mother did not have any itching symptoms. She did have stomach problems and other symptoms for a few years before hand. Unfortunately, she did not have good doctors, and they missed the diagnosis for a few years. By the time she was diagnosed, she was in stage 3-4, which was not good. If you do have lymphoma, go to the best doctors you can find - especially for any type of treatment you choose - my mom had chemo. She got an infection which shut down her organs. My family, to this day, believe the doctors were somewhat responsible for her passing. Whatever the prognosis, please do your research. Bring a pad of paper and pen with all your questions, plus you can write down all information. I would not jump to any conclusions. Easy for my to say - right? Please keep me updated - I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi jberthelot - By the time you read this you will have had the CT scan and have seen the doctor. No matter what the outcome, we are here to help you get the information you need and to provide support. As an individual who has leukemia, and as a volunteer for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, I deal with the realities of surviving a blood cancer diagnosis on a daily basis. You can write to me here, or you can also contact me directly to send a private message. You don't have to go through this alone, and there are many, many good resources to help you and others.
Take good care,

I got the CT Scan done yesterday. I have between 4 to 6 cyst on my thyroid. I will go back in 4 months for him to check me out and I will have a ultrasound every 6 months to see if they are getting bigger. Thank you so much for the support. I so appreciate it.

Hi jberthelot - Thanks for sharing your results. I hope your doctors told you that most thyroid cysts - or nodules - are benign. Here's some additional information from the Mayo Clinic to help you in understanding this and advocating for yourself. Please keep in touch, and we wish you the best. Pat
