Postinor 2 and all other emergency contraceptives are intended to be used only in an emergency situation, such as the condom breaks.
These pills prevent pregnancy by preventing ovulation. Their effect will last one menstrual cycle.
If you are sexually active and do not want to become pregnant, choose some type of regular birth control and do not take an ECP again.
Your options range from condoms for him to oral contraceptives, an IUD, and the Depo-Provera injections for you. Over use of an ECP can decrease its effectiveness and will cost you more money.
