Hi Im 19 years old I got my period at the beginning for may and it lasted 7 days like usually and now again at the end of may. but my period its really heavy i have to change my pad every 30 mins it never happened before and its scary to me. ????????

In manny cases the cause for heavy periods is unknown, but not dangerous.   But there are other possible causes such as:

  • hormonal imbalances
  • dysfunction of the ovaries
  • uterine fibroids
  • polyps
  • intrauterine device (IUD)
  • medications

There are also other more serious possibilities but these are the most common.  In most cases doctors recommend that you start using a contraceptive such as birth control pills.  These pills give you the necessary hormones needed to have a regular period.  There are also many holistic treatments for heavy periods such as herbal teas.
