Q:

How serious is my "Non-Functioning" ovarian cyst 6.3cm

I was told I have a Non-Functioning ovarian cyst that is 6.3cm on my right ovary. I had a CT scan confirming this. My low back has ached for weeks and now I have a burning sensation on my right side of my pelvic region since yesterday. I am sick to my stomach with loose stools. I was light headed briefly this morning. I spoke with my OB's nurse and they can get me in right away Monday. I am wondering if the ER today would be necessary. Can you assist me in making this decision? I have never had problems with ovarian cysts that I am aware of. Thanks.

Dear Anon,

Thank you for reaching out to EmpowHer community today. I'm sorry this is happening to you. If you are feeling that ill, I would err on the side of caution and go the emergency room. There is no way to tell exactly what is going on inside your body unless you are examined.

I hope you will update us on your situation.
Best,
Helena
