ask: i am living with hiv & i wants to have kids with my husband. what can i do help please.

With a specific drug regime, an HIV+ mother can have a very good chance at having an uninfected baby, but without these treatments, the risk for having infected babies is high. You would need to talk to your husband and doctor in detail about this and you'll probably start treatment before you try for pregnancy. With these treatments, many HIV+ women have gone on to have very healthy babies. However, no drug treatments before and during pregnancy can ensure an uninfected baby. You may not be able to breastfeed although most women would not find this a reason not to have a child. Just bear in mind that your health and the risks to you baby are of prime importance, especially your baby.

Your doctor will also evaluate your general health.

It would also mean having unprotected sex with your husband, exposing him to the virus (if he is negative for HIV) unless you choose to have his sperm done via IVF.

You can also look into adopting or using a surrogate. You have many choices!
