My boyfriend only wants to have sex about once a week, if even, but I am used to us being intimate every day or every other day. I have already brought it up before but I do not know how to bring it up again without making it sound like I have been unhappy about his low sex drive recently. He tells me it is because it feels insecure lately and he's been so busy with work that when he is with me he just wants to relax. I don't know how to handle this because I don't want to keep bringing it up, and I feel that it is wrong of me to get angry when he doesn't initiate. What should I do?

Hi vvanderlust,
Everyone is different, it might be a phase or there might be something or a condition making him feel this way.
Best,
Daisy

I have brought it up several times, would asking him to see a doctor not make him feel insecure and make the problem worse?

Hi vvanderlust,
Welcome to EmpowHER. It's important to let him know how you feel and that he should see a doctor. Low sex drive can be caused by many things. Such as stress, a new medication, depression and many other. Through blood work the doctor can also know his hormones levels and find the right treatment for him or he might also suggest counseling.
Best,
Daisy

I have brought it up several times, would asking him to see a doctor not make him feel insecure and make the problem worse? We are young, only 21 and 22 and I don't know if he would actually make the act to go see a doctor. Is this sometimes a phase, will it pass?
