Guide

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
Irregular periods are usually caused by hormonal imbalances. Usually missed periods or lighter periods are not caused by anything serious and correct themselves through proper sleep, exercise and diet. Serious signs to watch for include prolonged, frequent and/or very heavy bleeding. This can indicate something more serious such as ovarian polyps, fibroids or cysts.
Most doctors recommend taking birth control pills to regulate your period if there are no serious issues. However, this is not necessary unless you are experiencing extreme symptoms.
Below I have pasted a link to a HER article that talks more about causes of irregular periods.
