Hello Anonymous,

I suggest you discuss this with your obstetrician. Your conception date is considered to be two weeks after the last day of your last menstrual period.

LMP: Oct 5th. Due date July 12th. I had sex the whole month of October with my boyfriend and then the first weekend of November, after we broke up, I had sex with someone else. . I have a bit longer cycle than 28days no more than 35. Pregnancy test on the 11th was positive.

If I'm correct, a positive pregnancy test came about because I conceived BEFORE November started. ..?

Hi Anonymous,

Did your last menstrual period start or end on October 5?

My last period was March 2, 2016 and my boyfriend and I had sex March 20 (9 days before my next expected period) with a condom, but it broke at the tip. And the tip got stuck inside me. We realized it broke and then stopped but I know there was precum in there. Then we went an bought Plan B One Step that night and I took it right away. My next period was due yesterday. I have cycles that last about 27-28 days. Ever since the night we had sex my breasts have been sore. I still haven't gotten my period and took a pregnancy test yesterday morning and this morning- they were both negative. But is it too early to test since its only been a little over a week ago? And could my soreness be from the Plan B pill? I also heard it delays your period too. I am really nervous and don't want to be pregnant. I am not on birth control but I'm actually going to the Dr to get the shot today.
Thank you so much!

Hello Anonymous,

During your appointment, please share with your doctor what has happened. I know you will get the best answer.

Indeed, some women will have breast tenderness after taking the pill. It can cause your next period to start earlier or later than expected.

I think you were past ovulation when you had intercourse on March 20. Plan B prevents pregnancy primarily by preventing ovulation.

Keep in touch,

Hello Maribo,

What pill did you take? Was it an emergency contraceptive?

If you normally have regular periods, and you are already late by one week, take a home pregnancy test. For the most accurate result, test in the morning and use the first urine when you wake up.
