And then had my period a few days afterwards.
I'm always on the same date every month without fail, this month i'm late by about 5 days now i did a pregnancy test yesterday it was negative, and was just wondering wether i should take another at a later date or take the first one as the right answer,

Thank you for visiting the EmpowHER community to get advice about what you are experiencing with your late period. You shouldn't be pregnant since you had your period AFTER your last experience with unprotected sex.
If the hpt came back negative that should be pretty accurate if if it was taken after the missed period. Women can get a false negative when taken too early, but in your case, it shouldn't be too early since your period is late. It's also normal to have a cycle get off even when you are used to it being right on schedule.
You could take another hpt (don't take a generic brand and take it with your first pee in the morning.) If it comes back negative, and your period still doesn't come in a few days...make a call to your doctor and go in for an exam.
