I have had 2 spinal fusions at L4-S1. I had extensive nerve damage at L5-S1. That was 11 years ago and I was left with numbness on the back of my thigh and left foot. For the past 2 weeks my left foot has severe pain in the lateral cuboid area and increased numbness. When the pain started it was just with walking now it is pretty much constant. I went to the doctor today and he x rayed it. There is not a stress fracture. He put me on Lyrica. I was just wondering if anyone else with back problems and nerve damage has had this problem. Please help if you can. I am about at the end of my rope!

Hi,
I am sorry to hear about the degree of pain and numbness that you have been experiencing. I am certain that other members of the Empowher community who share your diagnosis will soon be communicating with you.
I hope you get some relief by taking Lyrica.

Thanks. I was just wondering what could be causing this constant pain. Surely someone else has experienced this. I have been trying to find answers on the internet and I have found something similar for runners and athletes but I am not in that category. Maybe someone will respond soon. I just hope whatever it is does not require surgery. I just turned 40 and I have had 8 surgeries in my life and I am tired of all of it. God Bless!
