I started taking the contraceptive pill for the first time on the third day of my period which was seven days ago, I took my seventh pill tonight and had unprotected sex shortly afterwards. Would I have been protected against pregnancy?

Hi Anon

There are many birth control pills with several different start dates and dates from when you will be protected.

Check your leaflet and read the instructions and follow from there. You should also contact your pharmacist.
