Hi, 2 days ago i thought my period started (i get small brown colored blood at the start as always) so i took my first birth control pill (i have used them for years but i had a break so i wanted to start again). I have been taking my pills since then but my period didn't continue. I had pink dots but not the actual red blood. I have been practicing safe sex with my boyfriend, over 2 weeks. Can i get pregnant somehow from pre-ejaculate with layers of clothes on? Or did I start my pill way early? Should I stop taking them? Thank you.

Hello. Thank you for posting.

There is no reason to stop the pills. You can't get pregnant wearing layers of clothes as there is no way to have intercourse like that. Pre-ejaculate fluid in itself does not contain sperm. Sperm can be picked up the urethra if a man has not urinated since ejaculation. But once he urinates, any sperm would be flushed out. You will need to wait for your cycle to sort itself out on the pill.

Thank you for your reply! It’s my 4th day of taking the pill as you said there is no reason to stop taking it. And my period still didn’t come. Is it considered normal? Should I take a pregnancy test?

Hi again,

Did you read my reply? You can't get pregnant from this scenario. If you want to take a test, that's up to you. Eventually, your period with sort itself out on the pill.
