I think you should be protected but to be sure check with your gynecologist.
As you probably know, birth control pills prevent pregnancy by preventing ovulation. A daily dose taken at the same time each day maintains hormone levels to prevent the release of a mature egg. Missed doses and taking the pill late cause a drop in levels and trigger ovulation.
