During adolescent years, it is common to go without a period for extended amounts of time. It is not dangerous or cause for alarm.
It is only necessary to have a regular period if you are trying to conceive or you are experiencing severe negative side effects every month without any bleeding.
If you wish to have a regular period however, doctors usually suggest that you take an oral contraceptive. These pills give you the necessary hormones needed to have a regular period.
