I have had a hemangioma on my nose since birth. It has gone down considerably but there is still loose skin that is there which has a different texture from the surrounding skin...it is noticeable still. Every once in a while, if I get some kind of thing like a pimple around that area, the hemangioma area gets really red and inflamed and a whole lot more noticeable. How can I make it calm faster?

Hi Anonymous,
As many of the hemangiomas are different on each person in size, have you talked to your physician about possible removal? Laser treatments?

Unfortunately, hemangiomas typically act like acne...they swell up and then without further aggitation will reduce in size. The good thing is, women can use "cover-up" to hide any blemishes! Time, patience and trying not to further aggitate the skin is the best medicine.

I hope this helps.
