Hi Anonymous,

There is no evidence that suggests that wearing a bra all the time will do harm to your back. If your bra is tight, however, I could see how the constriction of the bra can cause some pain. If you think the bra may be the issue, take it off to sleep and see if you feel better.

Good Luck,

Rosa

Hi Anonymous,

Wearing a bra all the time may cause some discomfort or skin irritation but there is no evidence that suggests that any serious harm will come from it. Some women believe that wearing bras all of the time, can cause cancer but the American Cancer Society says that no scientifically valid studies have been done to prove the truth of the "bras cause breast cancer" myth. Cancer is caused by a mutation in the cells, not by constantly wearing a bra. It's also believed that it will inhibit growth in a teen- this is also not true.

The truth of the matter is that there really is no harm done with wearing a bra all the time-- but if she'd like to take it off, then by all means take it off.

Hope this answers your question!
