Q:

I've taken Marvelon as EC. Still no withdrawal bleeding. Am I pregnant?

We did the deed thrice this month and I took 4+4 Marvelon 28 pills twice as emergency contraception or EC (4 pills then 4 again after 12 hours) (July 13 and July 18). My period's due on the 26th but I know that drinking the pills that way would alter my cycle greatly. It's the 22nd now and I still have no withdrawal bleeding from taking Marvelon as EC. I'm frequently urinating, my appetite's bigger, I have too much gas, I often feel tired and sleepy, and I'm stressed (partly because of being a paranoid) and it's hard to focus. Am i pregnant? I don't know when should I take a home pregnancy test.

Guide

Dear Anon,

Thank you for writing.

It's recommended that if you don't get your period within a week (or two) of its expected date, to test for pregnancy, to be sure. Keep in mind, ECP can cause irregularity, so a late (or early) period is not uncommon.
