If anyone please help me , so here's my situation :

My period was in August 6th , it was late for 6 days . Then I had sex on the 24th (my ovulation time was already passed because I can feel when I am ovulating) and I haven't have my period till today (it's September 3rd) . I'm far away from home and felt VERY MUCH homesick . I cry everyday and very sad all the time . I felt cramps and my boobs hurt about a week ago .

Is it because of stress ?? I can't be pregnant right now .

Thank you very much for your help .

Hi, Anon, and welcome to EmpowHer. Thanks so much for your question.

Stress can absolutely cause a late period. Especially intense stress like you are feeling now. Our cycles are determined by our hormones. When we have a lot of stress in our lives, those hormones can indeed get out of whack.

I'm so sorry that you're away from home and feeling homesick. I have been in your shoes and being homesick is really difficult. Is this a permanent situation or will it end soon? Do you have any friends where you are?

If your last period started August 6, you are only on day 29 right now. Is that late for you? How long are your cycles usually?

I'm so happy for you!!! I know how much better you must be feeling.

I hope the homesickness passes soon. It does get better with a little time. I am thinking perhaps you are an exchange student, just getting started on a new school year? If so, I know that your school schedule and your new routine will soon start moving faster than they are now. Take care, and get someone from home to send you a care package that has a couple of your favorite magazines and treats in it!

Hi Diane,

So glad it came honey. I was just amazed by "I can feel when I'm ovulating" part of your question. :)

I hope you seriously think about being acquainted with a better contraceptive than "feeling yourself ovulate" soon so that "am I pregnant" questions will not add to the stress that you are in right now.
