Multiple myomectomies.. does anyone know a good NYC doctor for 2nd opinion?

I'm 33 and I've already had 2 myomectomies and seem to be in need of a 3rd. my first one was an abdominal one when I was 24, the 2nd was a hysteroscopic one when I was 30. The fibroids have been back for quite some time and are growing, my last ultrasound which was a few weeks ago show them being at 5cm and 8cm and a lot of smaller ones plus the cavity of my uterus couldn't even be seen.. my doctor recommended nothing.. he said that I should wait till I decide to have kids and then have the surgery again before i start to try to conceive. I have no children and would like to preserve my fertility. my symptoms are getting worse by the day.. bulkiness feeling to the max, I literally feel the fibroids walking, sitting, standing.. i have to use the bathroom atleast 12 times a day and night.. sometimes not even being able to go even though my bladder is full, and my periods are long, painful and heavy. I would like a 2nd opinion, or atleast talk to a doctor who can explain to me my options and tell me exactly why is going on inside of my uterus. If anybody knows any specialist if NYC I would greatly appreciate it..

thanks.
Jasmine

I am also looking for doctor in pa, nj, or ny that is highly recommended to do myomectomy surgery. After seeing several doctors about not beong able to concieve, my husband and I decided to see a fertility doctor. She was actually shocked on how large my fibroid was and basically said that it will be very unlikely that I will conceive with this thing inside me. Due to the positioning and size, it is blocking everything. The other doctors just kinda blew it off and said our timing was off.

Im nervous that I will lose my uterus all together so I need someone highly trained in this surgery. We want to have kids right away. And i also heard that you must wait at least a year to try to conceive due to the weak uterine wall?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hey Girls,
I had my surgery last year in July. I feel great! I highly recommend Dr. Richard Levine. He's in Manhattan, Presbyterian Hospital. He is a wonderful experienced doctor. He took out 11 fibroids on a 2nd abdominal myomectomy and saved my uterus. If you have any questions please ask!

Hi. I know your post is over 7 years ago but still wanted to ask about your surgery and your choice of doctor. Would you still recommend your doctor?

Hey Jasmine,
I am new to the site I met with a few doctors in New York to discuss the different options for the uterine fibriods. However I was given the same answers, to consider a myomectomy. Did Dr. Levine tell you why you needed a 2nd myomectomy?

Thank you in advance,

Thank you ladies for your insight and compassion for one another in sharing your stories regarding your trials with fibroids. Having dealt with this condition for about 9 years(steadily noticing the fibroid pertruding) I am at an age (34) where I am ready to have children and realize this procedure is necessary. Through weight loss, fibroid shrinking tea, endless bottles of water and embarassing menstrual periods I started to think I was the only one going through the motions to try to avoid the inevitable surgery. I appreciate you all displaying a certain level of humility in sake of restoring our bodies in hopes of reproduction. I too am in the New York City area and looking for a specialist. I have already had 1st, 2nd and third opinions and they all seem to point in the direction of surgery as my best solution but it seems to be only a temporary fix. Please continue to share your information as I look forward to your feedback. I am so thankful and grateful to have found this blog as I pray the universe will continue to bless you in granting your hearts deepest desires mainly restoration towards motherhood! Be blessed!

Are you still able to have children after the UFE procedure. My doctor said this is not recommended if I still want to have children.
