Q:

My vagina does not produce any discharge even when I am sexually aroused

I am 21 year old and a virgin. This is a relatively new problem that I am facing. Earlier when I used to masturbate and get sexually aroused, I could easily get wet and enjoy the act more and more due to the easy way I could glide my fingers on myself. But recently my vagina seems to deny producing any lubricant. My boyfriend recently fingered me and even inserted one finger inside me and I was really turned on but yet somehow my vagina was dry as a desert. Please help me. What could be the reason behind this. Is it something to worry about?

Dear Anon,

Thanks for your post today.

Try prolonging your masturbation and foreplay. See if maybe you just need more time to get wet. Since you are able to get and feel excited, it might be something physical causing this. If this persists, you should see your gynecologist for a pelvic exam to see what else might be going on.

Thanks for your reply but what are the possible reasons for this condition. Is it normal or something to worry about

Hi again.

Once you see your doctor, he can determine what the cause might be and what to do about it.
