My wife has been experiencing abdominal pain particularly after meals. Alternately her gall bladder and diverticulitis have been blamed. Now a cat scan shown she has spondylolysis spondylolistheis, and will need surgery. However she has no back pain. Could spondylolysis be the cause of her abdominal pain?

Hi Anon
Thanks for your post and looking out for your wife!
I'm sorry she has had abdominal pain and this newer diagnosis but belly pain is not generally a sign on spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis. If she has no symptoms she may have received an early diagnosis which is a good thing!

With regard to her abdominal pain, it could also be due to allergies or food intolerances - has she been checked out for these? Is she currently on any kind of treatment for her discomfort?
