Q:

Is a one day period normal?

This month I got my period a couple days early which isn't abnormal for me to fluctuate a few days on either side BUT it only lasted one day. I've never experienced this before. I am not sexually active so I'm not pregnant. I haven't lost or gained weight and I'm not under any stress. The only other unusual symptom I had was more tenderness in my breasts than usual. Simply perplexed.

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. It is not that uncommon to have early bleeding that stops then your period begins. Sometimes, the uterus will shed what was left over sorta speak from your last period, then your regular period will start. Don't be too alarmed. Let us know if you have any other concerns.
