Period 2 days late, then spotting??

Hi,
My boyfriend and i always have unprotected sex and he always pulls out when he is about to come. My period was 2 days late, i started to freak out cause i wasn't having any early cramps that let me know that my period is about to start. On the 3rd day, every time i would go to the bathroom i would bleed a little. It seemed kind of weird to me because it never happens. But that night around 11:00 pm, i began to bleed heavily. It is my second day of bleeding heavily and i dont know whether this is my period or something else? Keep in mind that i am only 20 years old.

Hi Anonymous, Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. If you are having unprotected sex, there is always that possibility of pregnancy. If you are bleeding now, I am going to assume that this is just your regular period - delayed for a few days. This is very common. However, if you are bleeding heavily or experiencing any pain, you should go to your doctor as that could be a sign of miscarriage. I hope this helps and keep us posted. MissieJune 28, 2014 - 5:56am
