Possible mirena expulsion

I had mirena implanted Mid July of 2017 the first two months i would check for the strings however after the third i could no longer feel them and i just assumed they “curled” up as i read they eventually would. I have been sexually active with my partner since September, we don’t use condoms but he has never ejaculated inside. I have had irregular periods with mirena since getting it. However last night i had intercourse and my partner ejaculated in me I did notice for the first time during intercourse it did hurt a little but wasn’t too much. After i used the bathroom i bled a little but not a lot. I read that it could be due to a thin uterus lining. However I’m not sure if I’m protected or not due to all of these factors. I would go to a doctor but i recently moved states and have no primary doctor. My question is would it be okay to take Plan B contraceptive even if i have mirena?

Hello Anon

It would be ok to take emergency contraceptives. If you think your Mirena has shifted, get that checked asap. Planned Parenthood can help with that, you don't need to have a doctor there.
