HI. I had sex with my wife during a combined shower and ejaculated within. Though she did pass urine immediately and we did see the sperm coming out, I am concerned about this. She had her period on Feb 22 and her periods are usually 3-4 days early. Is it possible that she can get pregnant. We are not looking for a baby at this time.

Hi Anon!

Thanks for your post!

It's certainly possible that your wife is pregnant. When a woman urinates after sex (and some sperm is released) she is not at all protected from pregnancy. Millions and millions of sperm are released and while some come back out immediately after sex, it takes several days for them all to leave the body. Birth control needs to be used in order to prevent pregnancy.

She needs to take a pregnancy test which should be accurate in the next few days, if she doesn't get her period beforehand.
