Q:

pregnancy risk

I'm not sure if it was 'dry humping' because i had no underwear on and do not know if anything seeped through my leggings and dress. My leggings were wet though. I know that sperm cannot get past thick material like cotton and denim but what about if your clothes were made out of another material, say lycra. Is this rule still apply then? I read that lycra is like a filter and is easy for sperm to get past...is this true? I did not notice any wet spots on my dress but my leggings were wet! I do not know whether he ejaculated in his trousers, he did say he wouldn't do that to put anyone at risk but i really do not believe him after what he put me through. Plus, i do not know whether he had anything on underneath his trousers. Anyway, let's just think worse case, he never had boxers/undergarments on, he ejaculated in his trousers. Can that pass through my dress and leggings and make me pregnant?? My fiance thinks I'm being so stupid and i read on multiple forums that if a person ejaculates in their clothing then the semen would get absorbed within the fabric but i don't know if this would be the case for all types of material??? I guess i'm just nervous because this is new to me and my leggings were wet + people keep saying the chances are really low but it is probably which further raises my anxiety and makes me think what if i am and i missed something...

Also, i've been paying a close eye on my body since the encounter and i have been urinating alot.

Just have a quick question. According to the sites, at 12 weeks your uterus should be above your pubic bone. How can you locate both and what if you have extra padding in that area??? My stomach is just flabby which i think has always been like this

Please help me
Thankyou

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to us with your questions. Be aware of where you are getting your information and the credibility of that information.

Dry humping is another way of saying making out. Both partners are clothed and go through the motions of intercourse. There is no penetration and thus no risk for pregnancy.

Regardless if you or your partner were wearing underwear, you both were wearing outer clothing that prevented penetration.

According to the American Pregnancy Association,
"Can Sperm Travel Through Clothing Or Material?"

If the clothing was completely saturated with semen and was in direct contact with a woman’s vagina, there is a very slight chance the sperm could enter the vagina, but this is highly unlikely. No conclusive studies have been found to give a definite answer on this possibility.

So, you see, because you were wearing leggings, and even if his trousers were saturated with semen, there was NO direct contact with your vagina, which is inside of your body.

Are you referring to 12 weeks into a pregnancy? That would be the end of the first trimester and you would notice an increase in the size of your abdomen. An obstetrician or obstetric nurse practitioner would definitely be able to detect this.

Anxiety could be the cause of your increased need to urinate. Relax. You were not at risk for becoming pregnant. Stress can cause a delay in the start of your period.

Maryann

Thankyou for your reply. Does it matter if my leggings were wet and if i was ovulating at the time?

Just an additional question..
My period is due in these days..i've been working out alot and have been trying to stay away from processed food...but have not been able to reduce weight..could this be down to periods??? My weight at the moment is in the 135lbs range and i'm around 5.2 in height... Is that normal or overweight for my height?

Hello Anonymous,

It doesn't matter that your leggings were wet. The wetness could have been your own vaginal lubrication from being sexually aroused, or became damp from contact with your partner's wet pants.

It doesn't matter if you were ovulating because it was impossible for sperm to enter your vagina. Think about it.
Though sperm are very tiny, they are in semen which is a thick liquid that stays trapped in clothing, regardless how thick or thin.

I will not comment upon your weight for your height, because I don't known if that weight is muscle mass or fat. Check with your physician during your next physical exam.

Stressing out and excessive exercising can delay the start of a period.

Regards,
Maryann
