my today's question is : do we have to take any kind of safety step before and after oral sex ? i'm scared maybe both of us ( me and my gf ) get any kind of infection after we do oral sex ?

i was thinking the mount wash ( LISTERINEĀ® ) is also antiseptic so if we use it before and after oral sex so we are 100% safe from any kind of infection ?

please advise !

Hi nini68!

Thanks for your question!

Pregnancy is obviously not an issue in oral sex but a mouth wash does not protect from any kind of sexually transmitted infection either of you may have.

Oral sex can transmit several diseases like HPV and Gonorrhea - if you have concerns, both of you can be tested before oral sex. There is no test for male HPV currently so there is some level of risk that will be taken. There is a test for females.
