So here's the scenario. May last period is Nov 11 it lasted up to 5-7 days. Then me and my husband had unprotected sex on the 20th but i think it's 21st cause we did it i think it's already midnight. Then after 3-4 days i had spotting on the 1st day it was like blood tinged mucus, then the next day itbwas brownish discharge. I had spotting for 4 days and on the fourth day i take a HPT and it came out negative. I have a 33-35 days cycle. And my next period is due on Dec. 16th. So from the day i had spotting i still have 22 days till my next period. I need HELP here!

Hi Anon,

Thanks for posting. You may have had ovulation spotting. There are a couple of thoughts on what causes ovulation spotting. Some people believe that the light spotting is a result of the egg rupturing through the follicle during ovulation. It is thought that as the egg bursts from the follicle that a little bleeding may occur. This is why some women may notice brown spotting, which is generally an indicator of older blood, around the time they ovulate. The blood may turn brown as it exits the body. Ovulation spotting can occur right before ovulation or during.

If you have a 33-35 day cycle, it is way too early to test for pregnancy-- you should really be waiting until your next period is late.

I hope this helps clarify what you likely experienced.

Best Wishes!

Thank you for your reply! :) i hope it's only ovulation spotting and not a serious concern and also not pregnancy! We're still not ready to have a baby for now.
