Hi maryann, last jan 22 i took 2 tabs of postinor 2 at the same time and took another 1 after 12 hrs and bled after 6 days. I'm supposed to have my menstuation last feb 6, but until now it hasn't come yet. I don't feel something in my body, i don't even have any signs of having my period. Am i pregnant or is it just the emergency pill which has affected my cylcle? Please help me out, as I feel so anxious with this. Thanks for your kind response.

Hello Anonymous,

Postinor 2 can upset the hormonal balance that regulates your menstrual side. This reported side effect can cause your next menstrual cycle to start earlier or later than expected, generally, about five days. Menstrual flow might be lighter or heavier than normal.

Please try to relax, because stressing out can cause your period to be late.
Since you had vaginal bleeding after taking the pill, it was effective.

However, I am concerned that you took two pills and then a third pill 12 hours later. Was that the directions?

Regards,
Maryann

No. It says just take 2 pills. I was just worried that time, because last jan 22, i went to a gynecologist, he gave me 2 pills and took at the same time. Could I be pregnant? Cause until now i haven't seen my period yet.

Hello Anonymous,

We cannot know for sure until either you get your period or have a positive pregnancy test. Wait. If you do not start your period by the end of next week, take a home pregnancy test.

So if I got a negative result. Does it mean i'm not really pregnant? Cause it's been 1 month since i had sex and I don't feel anything right now.

Hi Anonymous,

If you got a negative result and have not had unprotected sex since you last had vaginal bleeding, then you are not pregnant.

Your next period may be delayed because of the emergency contraceptive.

Maryann

I already took pregnancy test and it's negative. I didn't have sex after my break though bleeding till now. And these past few months I don't really get a regular cycle. What advise can you give me? As I still feel anxious about it.

Hello Anonymous,

I advise you to schedule an appointment with a gynecologist, who by taking a medical history, doing a physical exam and ordering any necessary blood tests, can determine why you are having irregular menstrual cycles.

Hello Anonymous,

This is obviously causing you great concern.

If you took a pregnancy test six days after having sex, it was too early.

Repeat the test today.

Maryann
