I have been experiencing vaginal spotting since 3 weeks. bleeding in-between periods and irregular periods are common for me and I have never faced any serious problem related to this. I have had an ultrasound and thyroid test and all looks fine. What could be the issue?

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for coming to us with your concern about prolonged vaginal spotting.

When was the ultrasound done? Before the onset of the prolonged vaginal spotting or after?

How recently were your thyroid levels checked?

Is your gynecologist or primary care physician aware of this development? If not, I suggest you contact your physician as soon as possible. Your doctor, not I, is aware of your age, and the specifics of your medical history.

Anonymous, have you been told the reason for the bleeding in between period and irregular periods?

Regards,
Maryann

Both of the tests were taken after the spotting had started.
The doctor is aware and I have started with the medication. But there is no improvement. Also I believe it is hormonal imbalance.
What are the other symptoms of having an hormonal imbalance.

Hello Anonymous,

It all depends on which hormones are involved. What medication are you taking?
