Pat, thank you so much for the comment, and the support group information. I really do have a lot of
questions. i think that it would be best to wait and ask the surgeon. I will have more details then
and I can go from there. Sincerely, LIONESS111

Hi lioness111 - It looks like your question didn't quite get completed, but you seem to be asking what you can expect after having surgery for lung cancer, based on what you've said in other posts.

The experience is, of course, very individual. Elements such as your age, general state of health, the stage of your cancer, the course of treatment you receive after surgery and other factors will all affect your experience. This has to be an anxious time for you, and information will help you prepare, so here are some suggestions.

1) Our lung cancer resource page provides a lot of helpful information:

2) Patient support organizations can help you with this. They provide a lot of information and sometimes are able to match people up with a fellow patient who has had a similar cancer experience and can provide "real-world" information. Here are two national groups which most likely have chapters in your community.

American Cancer Society

American Lung Association

3) Keeping in mind that every person's experience is unique, it may help you to read the posts of another lung cancer patient who's been documenting her experiences on the EmpowHER website. Melissa Waller has provided a lot of information. Again, this is her personal experience and likely will not be the same as yours, but it does give you insight into the world of someone under treatment.

Hope these suggestions help you, and wish you all the best.
Take care, Pat
