Q:

What is my diagnosis?

Since late August I have had nausea. It comes and goes, throughout my cycle. I got my period on Monday (normal and heavy as usual) and had never had intercourse with my boyfriend. (So I shouldn't be pregnant). Just in case, I took a homemade test with things like sugar and toothpaste, and they all came out negative. Two weeks before my period, my breasts become very tender and lasts until I get my period, along with pains and abdominal cramping. When I get my period, I get regular menstural cramps, but the third day when the cramps cease, my nausea returns. I don't feel like I want to throw up, but my nausea is unsettling although I get very hungry. Around my left ovary, it has this funny feeling in it; like something is moving/ there. I was observing my stomach and there is a slight bulge around my intestines, by my bellybutton on the left side. My stomach is uneven. What is this? Is it Endometriosis or PCOS, or something else?

Guide

Dear Anon,

Thank you for reaching out to EmpowHer!

It can be an ovary related issue, but unless you are examined by a doctor and an ultrasound is done, there is no way to be sure exactly what is going on. I would definitely get this looked into. Let us know the outcome.

Best,
Helena
