Q:

Why does my lower abdomen hurt?

I have a pain in my lower abdomen that feels like it does before I start my period. The only thing is I am not supposed to start for another seven days. This pain is much more intense than I am used to. It seems to get worse and feels tight when I need to urinate and afterwards the pain subsides for a few minutes and the tightness goes away. I also feel like my lower back is very tight and this seems to make the pain in my abdomen slightly worse from time to time. Is there anything you can tell me that could be causing this pain? I am getting a little worried and unfortunately right now I cannot afford to go to a doctor. Thank you for any insight you may have.

I also had my tubes cut , burnt, tied and clamped... Six years later I had a daughter who is now eight.. So yeah your tubes can grow back !

Hi anonymous,

If you have your tubes tied then there's still a percentage of you getting pregnant, but what you may be experiencing is a cyst. That can cause all the symptoms you are experiencing. I highly reccomend that you go see your doctor as soon as possible as it can become worse over time if not treated.

Having all the pregnancy symptoms but negative results. Then they dissapeared and I have the odd stomach cramps and pains in my sides every so often. I have a weird feeling in my tummy when I lie down and the sight of food makes me feel sick. I have a huge loss of appetita and when I eat I feel physically sick to my stomach. I go dizzy when I stand upaand have headaches every so often also a few added pounds to my weight which is unusual since I've hardly been eating. Does anyone know what this could be or what is causing this? Was I pregnant and had a miscarriage? Or is it something else?

About a week ago I rolled from my side to my back and felt something pull in my right side. Since then it's been hurting severely. Had my right ovary removed 8 years ago so not worried about a cyst. The pain starts when I stand up and I get a little light headed right after. The pain has been in my back on the lower right side, but today it's been in my abdomen on the same side. Please help

I have pains in my stomach, back, an when I lie down I can feel a weird feeling in my tummy but my bf said it was just my nerves tensing or something I dont know :( does anyone else know what It is? I feel a tensing in my stomach when I walk sometimes amd had stomach cramps. Not due on my period for another 2-3 weeks and I seem to feel sick and have a loss off appetite. But mostly in one day have put 7 pounds on yet ive hardly eaten anything.

Hello Anonymous,

These symptoms could be caused by a gastrointestinal problem. It is quite unusual to gain 7 pounds in a day. You need to be evaluated by your physician.

Even though your period was late by five days, you did bleed heavily for two days. I doubt that you are pregnant, if that is one of your concerns.

Hi maryann,
Thanks for the advice, but I did go to the doctors about it and they were no help. However I am trying for a baby and thats why it was playing on my mind. Im still confused on why my it turned pink? Ive heard that you could still have your first period or a heavy implantation if you are pregnant, its all just confusing for me

Hello Anonymous,

For the benefit of other readers, CIN 1 refers to slightly abnormal cells found on the surface of the cervix. It is usually caused by certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV). It is not cancer and usually goes away on its own without treatment.

CIN 2 refers to moderately abnormal cells found on the surface of the cervix. It is usually caused by certain types of HPV. It is not cancer, but
may become cancer and spread to nearby normal tissue if not treated.

Based on your symptoms, I suggest an evaluation by a gastroenterologist. Diagnostic studies, such as a CT Scan or MRI of the abdomen, ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis, and a colonoscopy could help determine the cause of your symptoms and discomfort.
