Dr. R. Scott Thornton MD, author of Ask Your Gynecologist, just released Jan 2014 www.AskYourGynecologist.org

Here's a link to an article I wrote giving you all you will need to know about vaginal discharge. Ignore the ads and make sure you read all 4 pages

You get discharge before and after the time of your menstrual period which is normal. If it bothers you a lot see a gyn. Such thing usually is normal so you don't need to worry.

Since your saying your having pain it is best to see a gyn to be sure.

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. Milky white discharge is usually a sign of ovulation. This discharge will be milky white and will last a couple days. There should be no foul odor or cottage cheese consistency. Is there any concern for additional problems? Are you concerned with odor? Itching? Any other symptoms besides the color?

Thanks,

Missie
