I keep my period tracked on an app on my phone. It tells me when I conceive and when my next period is predicted. My period had been later than usual and when I had tracked it, it only lasted about a day, but before i had spotted dark brown. When I actually had my period, my flow was very heavy and gooey. After i realized that I stopped the flow, I now have discharge with light brown spotting into it.

With such limited information that you have shared, I do not not know your period presented this way.
Consider calling and scheduling an appointment with your gynecologist, who knows you, your medical history, can do physical exam and any necessary blood test.
