VIDEO - HERSTORY: Dena Shares Her Immediate Reaction To Her Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Dena introduces herself and describes her reaction to learning she had breast cancer.

Dena:
I am a five-time cancer survivor. I have literally turned crisis into opportunity by becoming my own detective, basically. So digging deep, turning myself inside out, and figuring out how I work, how my brilliant machine works, so that I can kind of could put, piece it together, put it back together, and strengthen myself and come from a grounded place of strength and centered security and confidence in kicking cancer’s ass.

The first thing that went through my mind was, how could I have breast cancer? I have done everything right. I didn’t, I barely ate sugar. I didn’t drink. I didn’t smoke. I used crystal deodorant. I did everything right. So I couldn’t understand how that could possibly be me, and I even said that to the doctor. I said, “I do yoga. I breathe. I use crystal deodorant, for God’s sake.” So that’s the first thing that went through my mind.
