Divorce is expensive. People can't afford to live in separate households during a recession. The results of long-term research on the devastating effects on children of divorce are giving parents pause. Children who are not raised by both their biological parents have lower educational attainment, are less emotionally stable, use more drugs and alcohol, engage in earlier sex and other high risk behaviors, etc.
