This amazing story about a little girl who desperately needs a new lung truly touched me.
Sarah Murnaghans, a 10-year-old Philadelphia girl has been waiting 18 months for a pair of lungs. She has cystic fibrosis, a birth defect that affects breathing and digestion. With this defect her ability to breathe has rapidly deteriorated and continues to do so with every passing day.
With adult lungs so much more readily available than lungs from children, doctors believe a modified form of an adult lung could save the little girl's life.
"Recently, the family asked a federal judge to issue a restraining order to block U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius having the agency that oversees transplants apply a policy that keeps children younger than 12 from being prioritized for available adult lung transplants."

Hi Michelle,
Thank you for taking the time in sharing this truly moving story. It's important to post these type of communication in order to continue to maintain awareness of these types of situations. That can potentially affect so many children in this country. I for one, feel that politics and medicine should not mix. When pertaining to children's welfare.
Best,
Daisy
