Hi Anonymous,
Thank you for sharing you sons story. As a mother, I understand your feelings.
A doctor should NEVER assign his job to the internet. Unless he specifically gave you a website (such as his own) to give you more information, then he should know better than to have a worried mom perusing through the web. If you have questions, it is this neurosurgeons job to answer any questions regarding the cyst and the surgery to you. Please feel free to ask him questions, if he refuses to answer-- have a back-up neurosurgeon that you can schedule an appointment with.
Wishing you and your son the best possible outcome- keep us posted,
Rosa

My son was found to have danny walker syndrome when he was 5 months old .. 27 years ago he had his cyst removed and had a shunt put in .. Thankfully there was no Internet back then , I had to go on what the docs told me .. Which wasn't much to be honest , things weren't easy for us he started having fits when he was 3 was in and out of hospital for years with blockers shunts or infections .. I tried to give him a normal a life as possible though contact sports and such were out of the question .. He had a mild stock when he was 13 but thankfully completly recovered he has some memory problems and gets agitated at times , done well in school and went on to be a chef ... I'm finding now that he slurs his words quite badly at times and I can't make out what he's saying but the doctors aren't concerned ... Can't find anything on any web sites to help me ... Would love to hear from any adults sharing similar issues. Thanks maria
