There has been a lot of talk about the Ovasure test and how to get it. You can now get it online. You have to pay for it yourself and it can be pricey - about $350+ - but you don't need an office visit or even a doctor's order.
It is also private so not part of your medical record.
I have found it at http://www.personalabs.com
I'm sure more of these lab services website will have it available soon.
The test only seems to be of benefit for early detection.

I had the test done on 09/16/08 and am still waiting for results. I am 25 years old and during a trans-vaginal ultrasound they found something "not cyst-like" in my right ovary that was not there a couple of years ago when I had my other one done. I have PCOS, and have been keeping a close eye on my reproductive health. I have not been blessed with children yet, so let's hope that this thing comes out negative. Anyone know how much longer I will have to wait for my results???

The OvaSure seems to be one of those tests that straddles the line between hope and fear. For example, although some advocates say the test -- which was developed by Yale -- is a tremendous service, the FDA isn't so sure about its results. If you'd like to find out more information, check out this link. The test has only been available since the end of June and was wondering if anyone had tried it, liked it or didn't?
