My sister and I had the pellet insertion done the end of April, and so far its been a good experience for both of us. We live in the Kansas City area and are looking for others who have had the insertion done who also live in the KC area. We went to AZ. to have it done and we understand there are others who also go there for their insertions. Please contact us to share info. and more. Thanks and we look forward to hearing from you.

Well ladies - here is my experience of the pellets...from the wife's perspective. My husband got the pellets. He has been on them for over a year. Lost weight, looks good, great muscle mass for someone who works out periodically - but has had a complete personality change - depression, aggression and anger. But refuses to see those negatives. He has become unnaturally vain. In 17 years he never raised his voice to me more than 3 times - last week he raised his fist, four months ago he got a girlfirend, yells at motorists, takes glee in being rude, and loses his temper. He is completely addicted to the energy and sex drive (with the girlfirend). Our kids and friends all see what he cannot see - those things have completely changed him and have ruined our lives.

That's interesting as I do take antidepressants and was told by 2 Drs that when my hormones got balanced I would not need them! I actually like some of the effects of the testosterone (my levels spiked at 140 and that was a little too much, now it's 107) I think except for the aggressive component but can't say anything else positive to date--well, my hot flashes went away. I took low dose regular hormones for about a year a couple of years ago and I actually seemed to sleep better then. As I think I said before, I wasn't expecting miracles--I'm a psychologist so I have a healthy sense of skepticism-- but was hoping that my mood would be brighter. I think I feel a little more depressed but it may just be due to the disappointment of this not helping. I have treatment resistant depression (which luckily does not interfere with my ability to function, just my enjoyment of life) so I was a little excited by the prospect of this being helpful. My dr keeps telling me to hang in there, that for some women it takes a while.

HI
August 12, 2009 - 12:51pmI read your post with particular interest. I was treated for Depression & Anxiety for quite a few years, culminating with 4 yrs. of cognitive therapy. Am well now, but credit much of the progress to falling in love with a wonderful, patient man though my counselor creditted it all to me.
Whatever, - I feel great these days (except for the lack of desire that I posted about).
However, I've known a couple people like you that say while they feel okay, they don't seem to have much enjoyment of life.
There have been a very few studies that perhaps you have a defective gene, like those few who can't recognize faces or understand humor. Wanted to leave this with you as a possiblity for your problem. There may be a drug protocol out there specifically for you. Have you investigated any clinical trials?
I know you must be very frustrated, an emotion I'm far too well aquainted with. I'm hoping this may guide you towards being happy.
And also consider the possiblity that maybe your take on your expectation of happiness may be from a perspective different than what is right for you. Not trying to be snarky, but maybe you're expecting to be in a great mood all or even 50% of the time. I'd say, upon practical applications, happiness/contentment could realistically be achieved less than 50% to 15% of the time.

While I have read glowing reports here, I am helping a friend who had the bio identical implant about 18 mos ago and has experienced some chronic disturbing negative effects. Her psychiatrist made some phone calls to another of her doctor's and was told there were a couple other women who had similar negative side effects. Just checking if anyone has information or had/heard of negative experiences?

Hi,
August 17, 2009 - 9:54amCan you tell me more about your friend's experience. I am Hera (see other posts) and am debating wheter to continue with pellets or just do creams or something (see previous posts). What happened with your friend and whoiver else her Dr. was talking about. It is so difficult to know as so many of the people on this site taking the pellets report such amazing results; I sometimes wonder if those with no results just don't write in. Anyway, any information would be appreciated. Ignore that disgusting post that someone made, like I said in my response, they are being very ignorant.

This has not merit, not facts, just a bit of mindless garbage to cloud the true facts. If your friend turely has mental problems she had them before she recieved the pellet. This is rediculous.

I don't see how you can say that is ridiculous (and check your spelling)--in fact I think it is rather ignorant. Everyone is different and every medication, natural or synthetic has side effects and nothing works for everyone--I am in the medical field so I know from experience. While I would not say my experience has been negative it is certainly not the glowing experience of many but whoever wrote in about their bad experience please say more as I am interested and don't let the previous post keep you from this site. Not responding to the pellets does not mean you have mental/emotional problems just different chemistry.

Since I am not having great results with my pellets (dr. is going to give me some more estradial) I would like to know from everyone who is feeling good what their FSH, Testosterone and estrogen levels were when they were at the best. I would really appreciate knowing--it might give me more hope about them working. Also, do any of you experience a high/low effect from the gradual weakening of the pellet and then the new ones. Thanks again.

I've been doing the pellets for 2 years and except for this past month, have had amazing results. I'm 52 and was suffering from migraines, hot flashes all day etc etc. After my first dose, all and I mean all symptoms of menopause went away. I do start to get hot flashes after 4.5-5 months, but that's it.
June 28, 2009 - 2:09pmThis past month which would be the 4th month into this cycle, I've been experiencing the spikes of testosterone, cramping, sore breasts and finally got a period - the first in over 2.5 years. My Dr. had me get a trans-vaginal sonogram which revealed a thickening of the lining of my uterus. He says that it is probably the hormones levels need to be adjusted but I have to be tested for cancer just in case.
If my tests are clear, I definitely will continue with the pellets. Because of them I have as much energy as I always had pre-menopause.
Best of Luck All!
