Bye-bye Brace Face, Hello SmileDirectClub

When we think of braces, we typically think about wires, colorful rubber bands, wax, and the smell of gross dental gloves. Or at least that’s what I think of, after having braces for two years and a correcting retainer for five — on and off, due to my lack of proper self-care post brace-face.

Before I was able to understand what braces were and why I needed them, I thought they were fun! Awesome! So totally cool!

And I truly could not have been more wrong.

The first time I ever took Advil was in fourth grade when I initially got my braces tightened. It was as if I had a semi-permanent vice glued to my mouth for "however long it takes" until my teeth straightened out.

Looking back now, that's a pretty accurate description of my experience with braces.

I used to stick wax balls on the brackets in the back of mouth to prevent them from cutting up my gums every time I chewed something. Wires, rubber bands, and tight pressure. All compressed in the confines of my adolescent mouth.

But is that the only way we can get straight teeth? Most would say yes, but for women like me who are no longer adolescents, the idea of having a mouthful of painful wires can be exceptionally daunting.

And that’s exactly where SmileDirectClub comes into play.

SmileDirectClub makes having straighter and whiter teeth a more discreet and affordable option.

Having wire braces as a middle school or high school student is not that embarrassing, considering the fact that the majority of your peers are going through the same pain you are. In fact, for some, it can be fun to have braces as a kid, being able to change bracket colors for the holidays or special events.

However, the average 20-something, or someone even older, is usually not surrounded by people her age with wire braces. People that get braces later on in life might already have been insecure with their smile for years. So, why not use something that provides the comfort of invisibility?

By delivering invisible aligners directly to you, SmileDirectClub gives adults the opportunity to have straighter and whiter teeth in three to 10 months, depending on the state of your teeth.

Thanks to SmileDirectClub, straight teeth are now a possibility for those that don’t have the time or desire to meet with an orthodontist regularly for monthly or sometimes bi-monthly checkups.

This is how it works. First, the company mails you an impression kit to measure your mouth for the invisible aligners. SmileDirectClub then will send your impressions to a state-licensed dental professional in their network for review, and then their lab will work with the dentist to customize your aligners.

It’s really that simple! You can have straighter, whiter teeth in an average of six months, all while paying a fraction of the cost of traditional braces.

As young women, we are growing and building ourselves as beautiful, strong empires, right? Empires, might I add, that need to save money in order to grow strong and stay strong! So, by default, saving money is crucial.

The process of having traditional wire braces is now a thing of the past — my awkward, middle school past, but a past nonetheless.

SmileDirectClub has you in mind — the worker, the parent, the student, the adult — you.

No more worrying about brackets on your teeth, wires getting stuck on the inside of your cheeks, or anything as painful as a mouth full of poking and prodding wires.

Are you a candidate for SmileDirectClub? Take a free assessment to find out and begin your journey toward whiter, straighter teeth.

We have even more savings for you too! If you try SmileDirectClub, make sure you use our code HERSmile to save 50 percent on your impression kit.
