How were/are your teen kids different to when they were younger?

My kids are very young as yet but I often hear parents lament about their teenagers' younger years. How innocent things were then, how easier....

Is this true for you? I think having very young kids with complete dependence on you is stressful - although kids with INdependence can put the frighteners on us too!

What has been the difference for those of you who have, or are going through the teenager experience with your kids?

Do you have words of wisdom for those of us who'll face it down the line?

AKA - is it as bad as everyone says it is?!
