HI, this is the intitial post in this new group. My name is Donna, and I have had RLS since I was 14 yrs old. I am looking forward to meeting other women here who have the same sleep issues. We also have "credibility" issues with RLS, unfortunately. There are even people in the medical field who do not quite believe that RLS is the sleep stealer that it is. So, how can we expect "regular" people not to be cynical about this strange sounding affliction. IF you have it, you certainly know that it is real, we do use the word "suffer" because we do suffer and struggle every day. There is no cure, nbut we who have RLS should never sway from raising awareness. Severe sleep deprivation is no joke. RLS in itself will not kill you, but the effects from it might. Sleep deprivation can cause lots of issues like high blood pressure, severe daytime sleepiness, lost relationships, loss of employment, etc. Tell us what RLS means to you, and if you have found us and have questions, please do ask. We are just getting started here, so let's see what happens. Welcome!
