Hi Kali

I know how frustrating it has been to post for the past week. We should have the glitches worked out by now - thanks for your patience!

Dear baby dreamin30,
I just tried to post and lost my information again...I don't know why this keeps happening to me. I don't have time to write posts or emails and then lose eveything before it gets up on the site.

So I will simply say I was recounted many experiences where I have had insensitivity to anethesia, freezing agents and medications.

I will research EDS. Thanks.

Sleep well. Kali

Hey ladies,

Susan-did they use Lidocaine to numb you for your c-section? Insensitivity to anethesia and Lidocaine are symptoms of EDS. I know it's rare. But you may have a high tolerance. Either way its worth looking into. I found a great video on this site http://www.empowher.com/ehlers-danlos-syndrome-eds/content/ehlers-danlos-syndrome-kristins-story.

Do you use a light therapy machine?

Well, hopefully you both are resting well tonight. Talk to you soon.

Dear babydreamin30,
Wow what a scarey experience. It happened to Susan too.

I hope the diagnosis can lead to treatment that will help you. This could be the answer for you. I need to research this disease. Maybe there is a connection for some us. Tell us about it if don't mind and have the time.

I have a laptop, but it is old and I was told by the last techie the hard drive is going and it could explode at any minute. I honestly just haven't researched the light therapy yet...but this laptop is full of research I hope it doesn't blow up soon. It's too old to try and back things up. There's no place for a disc or one of those sticks...am I supposed to back up on a CD?

If you can look into it that would be great. I stay off the computer in the middle of the night as it is too arousing for me.

Sleep to all of us tonight.

I also woke up during a colonoscopy and am glad I have have nearly a decade to go before I have another one. I remember it all to this day, it was horrible. It took 45 minutes to numb me for my last c-section, I had to have a huge amount of medication, the surgeon was bored out of her mind waiting for me to numb.  Me too.

I wonder if there is a connection here....

Thanks for the information on Blue Sleep Therapy, this is new to me too and I'm going to check it out.

Best in sleep to us all

Do you have a laptop? I'll research it tonight and let you know what I can find.

So, I asleep during the endoscopy. I remember them putting the tube down my throat but couldn't feel anything. But I woke up mid way through the colonoscopy from the pain. It only hurt because they have to bend it. But they gave me a second dose and I was out in seconds. The doctor said people usually have amnesia after, so he was surprised that I remembered it at all. Eeks!

I am hopeful about the EDS diagnoses...maybe with that they figure out what direction to take for treatment. Who knows. :)

Dear babydreamin30,
Thanks for the support. This "Blue Sleep Therapy" sounds interesting, but I don't have any of the devices. I do a lot of meditative breathing techniques and rely on my old fashion CD player to use many guided meditations for sleep...sometime it works to get me back to sleep for an hour or so.

I've been on every sleep medication available in Canada with no success. As well as using medications normally prescribed for other conditions that have the effect of drowsiness. No success. I know what you mean about your Fiance...I have friends who can fall alseep and have their pain relieved by taking a Tylenol...they so don't understand. I'm glad you have the support of your partner.

I have had both of those procedures but I never woke up. You woke up during the procedures! I have never heard of this EDS condition. Sounds like you and your family doctor are getting some answers which is good.

I would think it makes sense that the years of Insomnia has triggered your Fibromyalgia.

Thanks for sending me restful thoughts. Last night I was up every hour, but I grabbed 5 hours...that's a good night for me.

I haven't researched the light-therapy yet to know if it's an option for me, but I'd be interested in how Susan uses it as well. Kali
