Hi jenlyn0630

Thanks for your post and I'm sorry it has taken us some time to respond to you.

Many of the women we talk to here on EmpowHER suffer the same trauma after cancer as you. One might think that relief and joy are what are at the forefront (and they often are) but in many other women deal with the same kind of aftermath as you.

Your feelings are very natural. Cancer and it's treatments take a huge toll on a person and their families. Fear of reoccurance, wondering what may have caused the cancer, the longeterm effects of the treatments (for example, early menopause in your case) can all cause anxiety or depression. Sometimes - even after the cure - the fears remain.

jenlyn0630, you may actually be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. This is not uncommon with cancer survivors. Please take a look at this article here and see if it makes sense to you and how you are feeling: http://www.empowher.com/posttraumatic-stress-disorder-ptsd/content/many-cancer-survivors-struggle-ptsd-symptoms

Please let me know if this helps and I'll be waiting for your response!
