Samara shares the procedures performed on her neck and back.
Samara:
Because of the car accident that I was in I had to have two surgeries – one on my neck and one also on my back. The procedures were cervical and lumbar disc reductions. They were very, very minimally invasive.
The first time I went in for my back surgery the recovery after the surgery wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. When I went in the pain was really, really bad. On a scale from 1 to 10 my pain was maybe between a 7 and an 8.
After the procedure in my back I didn’t have a whole lot of pain. It was a lot of stiffness and some soreness but not the pain and that burning that I felt.
That was completely gone and I mean I can live with soreness and live with aching, but not the pain that I was feeling.
Then I had a second procedure done on my neck. This one was going through the front of my neck; also very, very minimally invasive.
They just stuck a needle into it with a laser and just reduced the size of the disc. The surgery doesn’t take long. It was about maybe 20 minutes total for the procedure.
After this surgery with the neck you are little bit stiffer and a little bit sorer than the back but that’s just to be expected with the area that they had to go into, but within a week’s time I had full range of motion in my neck and my back wasn’t hurting at all.
