Do you know what it means to have heart disease?

March 12, 2009 - 7:04am 410 reads

There is a growing push for those of us in the medical field to increase the awareness of women about their risk of heart disease. There is a special push during the months of February and March. I have been listening to and reading many of the news stories and articles about the subject. I have noticed one big hole in the reporting there is no definition of what heart disease is and what specific conditions it refers to. It becomes more personal if individuals that fall into the category of having heart disease actually knew that all the information is relevant to them. I will define heart disease and give examples of diseases that are considered heart disease. If you are suffering with one of these challenges you will know to pay better attention next time you hear something about heart disease

Heart Disease is a general term that refers to any disease or condition that affects the heart or the blood vessels including disorders of the values, congenital conditions, heart infections, and conduction disorders.
